Blades Twice As Wide
Shape of the blade has been inspired by the IKA (Japanese for Squid). IKA blades are twice as wide as normal scissors (in the picture, you can see the difference between an Osaka IKA and a Osaka YMS).
The difference in width packs a punch of power when slide or blunt cutting (great for thicker hair). The VG10 Cobalt forged blades delivers a soft cutting sensation.
Given the nature of the blade and super ergo handles, this scissor is ideal for those who like a bit of weight in their hands.

Process for delivering premium scissors
There are multiple processes before a pair of well crafted scissors reaches your hands.
We first refine and sharpen the steel (cobalt or carbon).
By hand, we shape the hollow ground, a trademark of any Japanese scissors.
The final shape is achieved by hammering every blade. It is a very precise step requiring exceptional craftsmanship.
Similarly to Japanese knives, the inner face is sharpened using different types of whetstones.
