There are multiple processes before a pair of well crafted scissors reaches your hands.
We first refine the steel (at Osaka Scissors, we use Hitachi carbon or Cobalt) by roughly sharpening it.
By hand, we shape the hollow ground, a trademark of any Japanese scissors.
The final shape is achieved by hammering every blade. It is a very precise step requiring exceptional craftsmanship.
Similarly to Japanese knives, the inner face is finally sharpened using different types of whetstones.
